Sometimes you have to be ready to manifest certain things.

That also means readying yourself to close the door on other options. 

When I think of the ways I've interacted with intimacy I have found myself reacting from a place of suspicion:

This person may leave me.

That friend will abandon me. 

I'm not smart enough to engage with this work opportunity.

I better not show them my fear.

I better hold it all in.

Therefore I will play cool. 

When I find myself playing cool, I'm often met with needing some form of catharsis. 

For a moment, busyness with work, social invitations, helps me stay focused on the target and distraction at hand; yet at some point the emotional overwhelm wins. 

I meet myself with the gentle surrender and honor that my emotions must feel and flow out of me.
